Are Gun Laws in tune with human nature?
God gives followers of Christ a loving new nature. But believers are comparatively few when compared to the rest. Knowing the depraved condition of the human heart, should we work to make sure everyone is armed with weapons designed for mass casualties? Or should we support gun laws that lessen or abolish private ownership for all but those whom God ordained to have guns? The civil magistrates?
This is the typical person before the new birth: Insane people are much worse.
“Now the works of the flesh are obvious: sexual immorality, impurity, depravity, idolatry, sorcery, hostilities, strife, jealousy, outbursts of anger, selfish rivalries, dissensions, factions, envying, murder, drunkenness, carousing, and similar things. I am warning you, as I had warned you before: Those who practice such things will not inherit the kingdom of God!” (Galatians 5:19–21)
“But the LORD saw that the wickedness of humankind had become great on the earth. Every inclination of the thoughts of their minds was only evil all the time.” (Genesis 6:5)

Well, we started out with the 10 commandments. That didn't prevent killing. The US has over 20,000 Federal laws alone just governing gun use and ownership.
You really think more new laws are going to help?
The answer is a heart transformed. A heart that submits to Jesus as Lord. Nothing else will work.
I am not saying laws are bad or unhelpful, but all they do is define crimes that people are going to commit one way or another. Perhaps there is some preventative value. Look at society today. How much do you think all those laws are helping?

If you are for outlawing abortion, why not work to outlaw the design and sale of guns meant to kill the most people in the least amount of time?
Who did God ordain to bear the sword? He did not ordain any but the Civil Magistrate.

And the civil magistrate in this country decided it wanted to also arm citizens. So you can quit using that argument as it does not apply here.

In this country, the Civil Magistrate made citizens an extension of the Civil Magistrate, thus making them part of the Civil Magistrate in these specific instances. Therefore, your argument is invalid.

Citizens are not extensions of the Civil Magistrate. God tells citizens to submit to the Magistrate. If the citizens submit to themselves you have anarchy.
