Black Gospel (provided the lyrics square with the truth) is the most moving for me. Historians say the Church gave us music. But I've always said the black church gave us really good music.

I likes it all. Classical, CCM, Hymns, Gospel Quartets, Southern Gospel, Hip Hop, Rock, Pop, Motown, Country. Christian & secular as long as it's clean (The wheels on the bus go round and round...). I really like diversity which is why my lesser favorites of those are Pop & CCM (Cookie-Cutter Music), one song sounds like the next. My default though is christian music. Again that's all over the board. But my all time favorites gravitate toward artists whose songs are like hard hitting exhortatory sermons: Keith Green, Steve Camp, Larry Norman, the early Casting Crowns, Sidewalk Prophets. Steve Camp is probably the best exemplar of an artist whose nearly every song is like a sermon; especially his album, "Justice".
Very tough question for me though; Man, I could sit here all night listing song after song by artist after artist that I love in every genre. I'm not going tell you how long it took me sitting here, going through my music to narrow it down this much. I love music. (Listening, can't play or sing a note.)

I always liked the growling bass on 9' concert grand pianos, no matter the music. Especially Rachmaninoff. And then I read this:
Low-pitched noises may curb dementia by shrinking toxic clumps in the brain by half, study finds
Activates high-speed brainwaves, which reflect how alert people are
Faster brainwaves are often reduced in people suffering from Alzheimer's
Previous research found flashing lights may be a promising treatment
One in eight over 65s in the US have Alzheimer's; a common form of dementia

Looking forward to the Angel Band.

I like Christian pop. In my native German, Lothar Kosse is my favourite. Here's a sample:Internationally, for example, Delirious, Rebecca St James, Matt Redman, Chris Tomlin, Rich Mullins.
Great stuff! Great musicianship! I translated the lyrics and joined in...
