God, The Bible, and Culture
Should culture be elevated, ignored, or abandoned when interpreting, sharing, and preaching across cultures?
- What role did culture play in God giving us the Bible?
- Does culture influence the Bible?
- Is God above culture?
- These and other questions arise when it comes to "soul-winning" or witness.
- Would you mind sharing your culturally unbiased views on this topic?
- What Bible is the most cross-cultural in existence?
- What Bible is the least culturally friendly?
- Can one indeed be culturally sensitive without diminishing any biblical teaching? CM
PS. This OP is a B. Mitchell special (living in Japan). We want to hear from you on this subject. CM

If you lived in a culture that killed their unborn babies for convenience, would you try to change that practice?

It appears that you want to discuss the topic of abortion. As a newcomer, you may not know that a thread is opened on this topic, albeit coupled with guns. See
https://www.christiandiscourse.net/discussion/comment/19226/#Comment_19226, https://www.christiandiscourse.net/discussion/824/when-is-a-baby-a-baby-at-conception-or-at-birth/p1, https://www.christiandiscourse.net/discussion/731/are-you-consuming-human-fetal-cells-with-almost-every-meal-or-snack, or https://www.christiandiscourse.net/discussion/920/unborn-vs-born-defined.
May I suggest you go there and join in the conversation. Start reading at the beginning or answer the questions I posed to fellow poster @byGeorge:
May I suggest you read or re-read this entire thread? Until then, consider these:
When is a baby, a baby?
Is a zygote (a baby?
Tell me lumber, nails, roofing paper, a poured concrete foundation, etc. Is this a house? ... CM
To keep the purity of this post and allow it to mature, may I suggest you go there or start your thread on the subject matter. I will resist the temptation to suggest a topic to you on abortion. @Bill_Coley some years back, in a cursory way, I believed wrote extensively on the subject. @Truth, you are free to engage him, start a new thread, share in the existing threads, or exchange thoughts with other posters. You may be surprised by their views on the "abortion" matter. My little thoughts could very well be a tip of the abortion iceberg if others are willing to share their perspectives. If you need help starting a new thread, the Chairman, Jan, or any of the posters will be willing to assist you. In no way am I dismissing your question above. I am suggesting a different location, for now.
Meanwhile, let's give this topic a chance to breathe by staying focused on Biblical Culture. Thanks for your understanding. CM

C Mc, You have made an emotional effort to derail my question. Please answer my question above, which is directly related to this thread. I will restate it again below for clarity.
